Some points to keep in mind:

  • Keep the most used items in the handiest places. For instance, keep your makeup near the mirror where you apply it.
  • Keep similar items together. Keep all of your garden tools in one place so you can easily find them when you are gardening.
  • If you don’t like it, use it or need it then get rid of it. Either give it away, throw it away or sell it.
  • If you want to keep it, but do not use it that often then pack it up in a box and put away in the garage or attic. Make sure that you label the box so you know what is in the box. This way you will know where it is to use when you need it.

So why not take these tips and see how you can apply them in your own home.

This is such an article. Great tips. 🙂 Clutter in the home is often what makes it look so-so or ho-hum. But when you live around it all the time, it’s easy to start ignoring the piles of papers, the storage boxes, the mismatch decorations, the scratched paint on the trim, etc. To help lift the veil from your eyes, try looking at your home as if you were a stranger visiting it for the first time. What items attract your eyes first? Is it clutter? Another strategy you can use is when you look at a room you’re around a lot, look closely for something you’ve never seen before. Even if you’ve seen the room every day of your life, this activity will allow you to uncover something overlooked. You might find that you don’t need that addition after all; you just need to remove a little clutter.
